    Day 1 –    -Guatemala City/Antigua-

    Arrive at anytime shuttle from International Airport in Guatemala City to Antigua.

    Overnight: Antigua

    Day 2 –   -Antigua-

    At 9:30 am we start of the Walking Tour through Antigua Guatemala (commonly referred to as just Antigua or la Antigua). The city is famous for its well-preserved Spanish Mudéjar-influenced Baroque architecture as well as a number of spectacular ruins of colonial churches. a leisurely walk around this World Heritage Site. The tour focuses on the city's history, cultural trends and restoration efforts. We visit the City Hall Palace, Palace of the Captain's General, the Cathedral with its majestic ruins, Antigua's unique cultural lifestyle, Maya archeology through the spiritual stone of jade, and the best museums in town at Paseo de los Museos. The city comes to life.

    In the afternoon we will hike one of the most actives volcanoes in Guatemala, Pacaya.With a height of only 2,500 meters (8,200 ft) above sea level, it is relatively easy to climb and affords a truly spectacular view from the top. If weather permitting, you'll admire a spectacular sunset and other surrounding volcanoes.

    Day 3 –   -Antigua/Lake Atitlan-

    Free morning.

    2:30 pm transfer to Lake Atitlan one of “the most beautiful lake in the world” said by Alexander von Humboldt. The blue-crystaline lake is surrounded by 12 Mayan villages where you will see how the descedents of the Mayans still have a traditional culture that’s very much alive to today.

    Overnight: Panajachel

    Day 4 –   -Lake Atitlan-

    8:30 am Cultural Boat/Walking tour to the Lake. This morning we will take the motor launch to the Mayan villages of San Marcos, San Juan and Santiago, learning about the culture, traditions and folklore. Explore each town, get in touch with locals, see a first hand demostration and discover how a womens weaving cooperative continues the traditional methods of dying thread with native plants. Continue to Santiago, the major town in the lake, the most famous Mayan Tzutujil village, where you can meet naif painters, learn about their “cofradias and Maximon”.

    3 pm back in Panajachel.

    Free afternoon.

    Overnight: Panajachel.

    Day 5 –   -Chichicastenango Market/Guatemala City-

    8 am Today depart to Chichicastenango, a traditional Mayan Market. A broad selection of Guatemalan handicrafts is available, including carved-wood masks and religious figures, ceramic wares, and an immense selection of the country's amazing native textiles. After visit the two catholic churches and the museum where a Popol Vuh (Mayan Bible was found). A short visit to the “morerias” and Pascual Abaj stone idol will give you an idea of Mayan ceremonies that are being held by “chamans” and locals. Guided tour.

    3 pm shuttle from Chichi to Guatemala City.

    6:30 pm arrival in Guatemala City.

    Overnight: Guatemala City.

    Day 6–   -Guatemala City/Coban-

    Breakfast at the hotel

    9 am shuttle from Guatemala City to Coban, the gateway to some of Guatemalas best kept secrets. Visit to the Quetzal Biotope, a fascinating remnant of the formerly huge cloud forests of Guatemala. The University of San Carlos protects this 11 km² area, a small part of which is open to the public. Cloud forests are the most beautiful of tropical forests, the reason for all this splendor is the high humidity in the air. Every tree seems to be the work of art of a Japanese florist, being covered with mosses, red flowering bromeliads and carpets of orchids. Continue to Coban.

    Overnight: Coban.

    Day 7–   -Semuc Champey/Lanquin Caves-

    The tour starts with a visit to Semuc Champey, a wonderful natural marvel of turquoise infinity pools over the Cahabón River. Imagine two masive mountains that have a river in between, this river has formed a limestone bridge where on top you get amazing turquoise ponds ranging from turquoise to emerald-green. Most of the pools are not deep and you can just walk into them, choose a spot, sit down, and just let the cool water flow past you. So relaxing! The water is so clear and you can see little fishes surrounding you while you enjoy your box lunch. Then the tour continues with a visit to the caves of Lanquin. The Lanquin Cave is an enormous and beautiful complex containing countless chambers and beautiful limestone formations. Stone altars located inside the cave have been used by local Maya for centuries in sacred ceremonial rites. Some of them are still used by the locals in the traditional manner. Our experienced local guide will show you different sites and explain the ceremonies and geological features. At dusk we wait at the mouth of the cave where we have special permission to watch the exodus of thousands of bats leaving the cave in search of food. Savvy travelers wouldn't dream of missing this full-on adventure of spelunking, climbing the mirador, and viewing one of the world's magical places.

    Overnight: Coban.

    Day 8–   - Coban/Flores-

    Breakfast at the hotel, included.

    9:00 am shuttle from Coban to Flores 4:00 pm arrival in Flores Island. The little town rests on the island that was the location of the last independent Mayan City State of Tayasal. The kingdom of Tayasal held out until 1697, when the Spanish conquered the island by using boats. The modern city of Flores was built on top of these ruins.The city itself is a nice colonial place to visit on your way to Tikal.

    Overnight: Flores Island.

    Day 9–   -Flores/Tikal -

    This morning you will travel to the magnificent Mayan city of Tikal, considered once the most powerful kingdom of the Mayan Civilization. Tikal is located at the center of the 222-square-mile park. Marvel at the impressive structures of this ancient civilization, visiting sites such as the Twin-Pyramid complex, the Lost World Complex, Temple III, the Palace of the Windows, the Great Plaza, the Pyramid of the Grand Jaguar, the Pyramid of the Masks, and the Palace of the Nobles. Have the opportunity to climb to the top of Pyramid IV, the highest of the Mayan pyramids, from where you will have a complete view of Tikal and its surrounding jungle. After the tour, enjoy lunch. Free afternoon where you can take the opportunity to visit the site again and also watch the sunset over the jungle.

    Overnight: Tikal National Park.

    Meals: lunch.

    Day 10–   - Tikal/Guatemala City-

    4:00 am Before sunrise we follow our guide through in the silence of the jungle. It ends up being a 45 min trek through the rain forrest ot get to Temple IV. At the top, you can see the whole Tikal area, the rain forest canopy, and a few of the other pyramids, all slightly shrouded in mist. As the sun begins to rise, birds began to call from all directions, followed by howler monkeys waking up. As the sun makes its slow climb on its patch to its zenith, the fog begins to burn away, the canopy is glowing, alive with life, the other temples glimmering in the early morning sun. Return to hotel through new trails for breakfast. rest of the day off where you can take to make your personal visit, take pictures or just relax at the beginning of the new era.

    7 am end of the tour, enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

    Leisure time.

    2:30 pm shuttle from Tikal to Flores.

    7:55 pm flight from Flores to G.C.

    9:00 pm arrival in Guatemala City, transfer to your hotel.

    Overnight: Guatemala City.

    Meals: breakfast.

    Day 11–   - Bye, Bye-

    Breakfast at the hotel included. Transfer to the airport.
